Meet Somerset County's 1st Baby Of 2026 At RWJ Somerset Hospital

SOMERSET COUNTY, NJ — Say hello to Somerset County's first baby born of 2026 at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital (RWJUH) Somerset.

Jayden Mateo Ventura Dehesa was born at 9:56 a.m. on Jan. 1.

The baby boy was born to Alondra Lizzeth Dehesa Flores and Isrrael Ventura Cortes of Raritan. Jayden weighed 8 pounds and was 20 inches long. He is the couple’s first child.

U.S. News & World Report has rated RWJUH Somerset as "high performing" in maternity care, recognizing that the hospital is well above the national average in the quality of care provided to its patients. In addition, Healthgrades has awarded RWJUH Somerset 5 stars for vaginal deliveries and 5 stars for C-section deliveries.
