Quake Aftershocks Climb To 48 In New Jersey
The latest aftershock was reported on Wednesday morning across multiple counties.
SOMERSET COUNTY, NJ — The number of earthquake aftershocks reported in New Jersey continues to climb Wednesday following last week’s 4.8 magnitude earthquake.
The most recent aftershock was recorded on April 10 at 2.6 magnitude at about 10:22 a.m. near Gladstone in Somerset County. This brings New Jersey's total to 48 as of Wednesday morning.
The strongest aftershock occurred near Gladstone at 3.8 magnitude about 6 p.m. on Friday.

USGS officials reported on Monday that more aftershocks were likely to follow.
"According to our forecast, there is a 1% chance of one or more aftershocks that are larger than magnitude 5, which can be damaging, within the next week," the USGS said, adding the area could record up to 10 aftershocks in the next week that measure at a magnitude 3 or higher.
