Carteret Man Shot and Killed, No Arrests: Prosecutor

The 49-year-old man was shot multiple times, officials said.

CARTERET, NJ — A Carteret Man has died after being shot several times Friday night, Middlesex County Prosecutor Andrew C. Carey said.

The 49-year-old Carteret resident was shot around 11 p.m. near the High Street Knights of Columbus. He died on his way to the hospital. The man's name was not released.

An autopsy is still pending; Carey did not classify the death as a murder in a press release issued Saturday morning, nor did it mention any arrests.

A spokesperson for the Prosecutor's Office did not immediately return Patch's request for more information on potential suspects.
