Edison To Bring Back Updated $20M Bond Ordinance To Council
The original ordinance had failed to pass two weeks ago.
EDISON, NJ – The Edison Council will be bringing back a $20 million bond ordinance with an aim to get it passed.
The ordinance had originally failed to pass around two weeks ago.
Expense for the community broadband system which was present in the older ordinance has been replaced with funding for park improvements.

During the last council meeting Council President John Poyner announced that the ordinance will be introduced on Oct.11 with a public hearing.
The current ordinance includes $430,000 for police vehicles and equipment; $1 million for the purchase of emergency management vehicles; $1.6 million for public works equipment and vehicles; $4.8 million for the construction of a new Roads Department garage; $265,000 for park improvements; $1 million for drainage and stormwater projects and $6.5 million for paving and resurfacing of various township roads.

Council voted to introduce the ordinance on Oct. 11 with Councilman Richard Brescher abstaining and Councilwoman Joyce Ship-Freeman voting ‘no.’
