Luistro, her husband and two sons, aged 15 and 12 were hiding from the storm in their cabin when a 100-foot tree fell on the cabin, pinning her under it and killing her, according to the GoFundMe.

“Carol was an incredible wife, mother and daughter. The roles she cherished most were being a mama to her wonderful boys and a devoted and loving wife to her husband Lloyd. Her beautiful smile would brighten any room and she loved celebrating life. Everyone who met her loved her. Carol was the person who would always volunteer to help those in need,” the GoFundMe said.

“Carol was a beautiful woman with an even more beautiful soul. She was brilliant, caring and funny. She loved her family and friends fiercely and was always looking out for them. At 45 years old, she had so much light and love left to give.”

The friends have urged neighbors, friends and acquaintances to donate to the fundraiser so all proceeds would go to the Luistro family.

“Any financial assistance will help the family to get through this difficult and painful time as well as ensure that Carol's children have the necessary resources needed for their education,” according to the fundraiser.

As of Friday morning, the fundraiser reached $20,657 of its $30,000 goal.
