Pet Peacocks Rescued By Firefighters After Being Stranded Atop NJ Home
NJ firefighters rescued two pet peacocks that were found stranded atop the roof of a home on Friday, officials said.

EDISON, NJ - It wasn’t your average cat stuck in a tree job for these Middlesex County firefighters.
Instead, Edison Township firefighters rescued two pet peacocks stuck on the roof of a home on Friday, the Edison Fire Fighters Association said in a Facebook post.
A Platoon Engine 11 and Truck 2 were dispatched for the rescue operation on Troy Avenue last week, with both feathered residents brought safely back to the ground after a ladder was used to retrieve the birds.

"[It's] unknown why they went to the roof," fire officials told Patch in a Facebook message. "It’s thought that an animal scared them and they went to higher ground."
