Vandal Throws Trash Cans On Track, Delays NJ Transit Trains In Metuchen

METUCHEN, NJ – The Northeast Corridor Line experienced a 60-minute delay Thursday morning after a vandal threw trash cans on the track in Metuchen, NJ Transit said.

The Northeast Corridor Line eastbound rail service was subject to up to 60-minute delays beginning at 9:30 a.m., due to vandalism resulting in debris on the tracks.

“The vandal responsible for throwing several metal trashcans on the tracks at Metuchen, disabling train 3818 and delaying service on the NEC has been apprehended by Metuchen police,” NJ Transit said on platform X.
