Former Haddonfield Coach Inducted Into Camco Sports Hall of Fame

Former Haddonfield High School field hockey coach, Judy Morgan, will be inducted into the Camden County Sports Hall of Fame tonight.

After a brilliant career at West Chester with nationally ranked teams, she became one of the most successful field hockey coaches in South Jersey history.

In 19 seasons, she won six state championships and 274 games at Haddonfield. Her .796 winning percentage ranks with the best ever. She was enshrined in the Field Hockey Hall of Fame in 1995. She took over the varsity at Haddonfield in 1978 and led her first team to a state crown. While at Haddonfield, she accepted the demanding job of president of the Field Hockey Club of South Jersey and held that position more than a decade.

Other inductees include Adam Taliaferro (Eastern), Art DiPatri (Gloucester Catholic, Paul VI), Stan Pawlak Jr. (Collingswood), Jack Carty (Camden Catholic), Claire Harden (Collingswood), Ferne Labati (Collingswood), Jerry Gold (Woodrow Wilson), Tom Trotman (Cherry Hill West), Bucky Waters (Collingswood), Patti Dunlap Patoulas (Camden), Steve Israel (Haddon Heights), and Terry Schaal Durkin (Gloucester Catholic).

“Their focus on teamwork and leadership qualifies these latest inductees as permanent fixtures in the history of Camden County,” said Freeholder Director Louis Cappelli Jr.

The event will take place at Lucien’s Manor, 81 West White Horse Pike in Berlin.  The evening starts with a cocktail hour at 5:00 p.m. At 6 p.m. there will be a march of the 13 inductees into the banquet room. Dinner will start immediately after the brief introductions, and the induction ceremonies will begin shortly after 7 p.m.
