2 Men Charged In Crescent Ave Shooting That Killed 2, Injured 4

JERSEY CITY, NJ— Two people in Jersey City have been charged in the May fatal shooting on Crescent Ave and Brinkerhoff Street that left two people dead and four people injured, according to the Hudson County Prosecutor's Office.

Cooleone McNeil, 21, and Omire Rios-Williams, 19, were arrested and are facing murder charges. McNeil was arrested on Thursday, shortly after 4:30 p.m. by members of the United States Marshals Service New York/New Jersey Regional Fugitive Task Force at a home in Elizabeth without incident.

McNeil was charged with two counts of Murder in the first degree; Conspiracy to Commit Murder in violation in the first degree, four counts of Attempted Murder in violation in the first degree; two counts of Unlawful Possession of a Weapon (handgun) in the second degree; and Possession of a Weapon (handgun) for Unlawful Purposes in the second degree.

Rios-Williams was already arrested and detained previously at the Hudson County Correctional Center in Kearny for the May 3 murder of Emmanuel Garcia.

Just before 11 p.m. on May 21, six people were shot inside the car they were sitting in on Crescent Avenue and Brinkerhoff Street. All the victims are Jersey City residents.

The Hudson County Prosecutor's Office identified the two people who were killed as Randolph Black Jr., 25 and Jason Crutcher, 26. Four others were injured in the shooting, a 26-year-old man was found near 55 Crescent Avenue with gunshot wounds and a 20-year-old woman was found inside a business on Monticello Avenue with gunshot wounds, the HCPO statement said. A 35-year-old and a 25-year-old were also treated for gunshot wounds.

Rios-Williams was charged with two counts of Murder in the first degree; Conspiracy to Commit Murder in the first degree, four counts of Attempted Murder in the first-degree; two counts
of Unlawful Possession of a Weapon (handgun) in the second degree; and Possession of a Weapon (handgun) for Unlawful Purposes in the second degree.
