Families Displaced After Jersey City Fire: Report

Firefighters found the fire moving from the first to the second floor at 6 Vreeland Place Sunday night, according to the report.

JERSEY CITY, NJ — Two families were displaced after a fire broke out at a Vreeland Place apartment building Sunday night, NJ.com reported.

Firefighters got to the building at about 6 p.m. and found the fire moving up to the second floor from the first floor through the back wall, according to the report.

Residents got out of the building before firefighters arrived. The Red Cross helped relocate nine adults and two kids, according to the report. A 9-year-old girl was treated for smoke inhalation.
