Former Jersey City Resident Admits To Conspiring To Sell Fentanyl

JERSEY CITY, NJ — A former Jersey City resident admitted to conspiring to distribute fentanyl, according to the Department of Justice.

Darryl Hinkson, 46, formerly of Jersey City, pleaded guilty on Wednesday to a charge of conspiracy to distribute and possess with the intent to distribute 100 grams or more of a fentanyl analogue.

Between Sept. 11, 2018, to Oct. 18, 2018 Hinkson and others conspired to sell fentanyl analogue, according to the charging documents. Hinkson sold the pills to people under the guise that they were Xanax or Percocet, according to court documents.

The count of conspiracy to distribute and possess with intent to distribute fentanyl analogue carries a maximum penalty of life in prison and a fine of $10 million. Sentencing is scheduled for Dec. 9, 2021.
