How Much Is COVID Spreading In Jersey City With Delta Emerging?
The variant accounted for more than half of NJ cases over a four-week period. Here's the growth rate in Jersey City.

JERSEY CITY, NJ — Hudson County and New Jersey have seen an uptick in coronavirus cases. But what does that mean for Jersey City?
According to the New Jersey Department of Health's COVID-19 dashboard, Hudson County had a daily metric of 69 confirmed cases as of Wednesday. For Jersey City, an average of 33 new cases have been reported this week, according to data collected by the city.
Jersey City has seen an average of 28 new cases in the past two weeks. According to city data, there were three COVID-19 patients in Christ Hospital as of August 2 and four COVID-19 patients in Jersey City Medical Center as of July 31.

Officials continue to monitor the delta variant, which accounted for 53.2 percent of coronavirus cases in New Jersey over a four-week period ending on July 3, CDC numbers show.
It's twice as infectious," Andy Slavitt, a former member of President Joe Biden's Covid Response Team, told CNN. "Fortunately, unlike 2020, we actually have a tool that stops the delta variant in its tracks: It's called vaccine."

Hudson County and all of North and Central Jersey have "moderate" COVID activity, according to New Jersey's latest weekly report. The determination is based on metrics such as case rate, positivity rate and prevalence of COVID-like illnesses.
Jersey City has 1o vaccination sites within the city and two other sites in Kearny that accept Jersey City residents, all listed on the city website.
