Jersey City Man Charged With Sexual Assault of 13-Year-Old
Steffon Fowler is accused of sexually assaulting a Montclair girl he met on social media.
JERSEY CITY, NJ — A 24-year-old Jersey City man was arrested on Tuesday and charged with the sexual assault of a 13-year-old girl he met on social media.
Steffon Fowler is accused of sexually assaulting a Montclair girl at his home on Arlington Avenue in Jersey City, according to the Hudson County Prosecutor's Office. Officials said he met the teen on social media.
He was arrested without incident after surrendering himself at the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office in Jersey City. He was charged with one count of sexual assault in the second-degree, endangering the welfare of a child in the third-degree and criminal sexual contact in the fourth-degree.

On January 17, 2021, members of the Special Victims Unit were notified by the Jersey City Police Department about an alleged sexual assault of a Montclair girl by a man she met on social media. Fowler was later identified and arrested following an investigation by the SVU.
