The school is just 1 of 9 New Jersey schools to earn the distinction this year.
JERSEY CITY, NJ — A local middle and high school was named a 2018 National Blue Ribbon School.
Infinity Institute is a Magnet school with 293 students in grades sixth through 12th. The school offers an accelerated college-preparatory program. All courses are honors or Advanced Placement courses.
Infinity Institute has partnered with the University of Cambridge to provide middle schools with rigorous language arts, science, and mathematics curricula.

Students must read fiction and nonfiction material and write responses that require evidence from them to answer analytical questions.
The school was named an exemplary high performing school under the Blue Ribbon program. These schools are among the state's highest performing schools as measured by state assessments and national tests.

Now in its 37th year, the National Blue Ribbon Schools Program has recognized more than 9,000 schools. U.S. Secretary of Education Betsy DeVos and the U.S. Department of Education will celebrate with 312 public and 50 non-public school honorees at an awards ceremony in Washington, D.C. in November. Up to 420 schools may be nominated for a Blue Ribbon designation annually.
