Jersey City Under Severe Thunderstorm Watch: What To Know
A severe thunderstorm watch is in effect until 8 p.m. in Hudson and several nearby counties.
JERSEY CITY, NJ — The warm weather of the past few weeks could be temporarily swept away with a cold front that's bringing storms our way.
A severe thunderstorm watch is in effect for Jersey City, Hudson County and several surrounding counties until 8 p.m.

This Afternoon: Showers and thunderstorms likely. Some of the storms could produce small hail and gusty winds. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 86. Northwest wind around 11 mph. Chance of precipitation is 70 percent. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.
Tonight: Mostly clear, with a low around 66. Northwest wind 7 to 10 mph.

Thursday: Widespread haze. Mostly sunny, with a high near 85. North wind around 9 mph.
Thursday Night: Widespread haze before 9pm. Partly cloudy, with a low around 67. Northwest wind around 8 mph.

Flood Prone Areas
Jersey City has 14 "repeat flooding" intersections throughout the city identified by the Jersey City's Municipal Utilities Authority. During heavy rains and flooding, drivers and residents should use extra caution and avoid the intersections when possible.
The intersections are as follows:
1) 9th Street & Brunswick Avenue
2) Linden Avenue & Princeton Avenue
3) Kellogg Street & Route 440 (DOT Drainage)
4) Westside Avenue & Audubon Avenue
5) Fisk Street & Route 440 (DOT Drainage)
6) Culver Avenue & Route 440 (DOT Drainage)
7) Grove Street Between Jersey City & Hoboken
8) Marin Blvd Between Jersey City & Hoboken
9) Merseles Street & Wayne Street
10) Center Street & Bright Street
11) Clendenny Avenue & Marcy Avenue
12) Richard Street just East of Garfield Avenue
13) Manholes on Montgomery Street (Florence St to Mill Rd)
14) Cornelison Avenue
