Jersey City's Christine Rivers Turns 103 With City Officials
Officials visited Rivers at home to deliver a proclamation to her on her birthday.
JERSEY CITY, NJ — Christine Rivers celebrated her 103rd birthday with officials in her home.
Honored with a proclamation, Rivers has been a Jersey City resident for eight decades — while she was born in Florida, her heart is all Jersey city. She moved to the city in the 1940s and worked for Western Electric for nearly 40 years.
While her birthday was June 15, officials released a video on Thursday celebrating her birthday and another resident, Helen Regan, who also turned 103.
