Seminars On Expunging Criminal Records Being Held In Jersey City
Attendees can learn about how to file for expungement and the types of records that can be expunged, among other topics Oct. 10.
JERSEY CITY, NJ — The Hudson Vicinage of the Superior Court of New Jersey is hosting a series of seminars in the city on how people can get their criminal records expunged.
The following topics will be covered:
- The types of records that can be expunged
- How to file for an expungement
- What happens at an expungement hearing
- What to expect if you represent yourself
Court staff from the criminal division and Hudson Vicinage Office of the Ombudsman and representatives from the Northeast New Jersey Legal Services will discuss the topics.

The free seminars are held at the Hudson County Administration Building at 595 Newark Ave. on the following dates and times:
- Oct. 10 and Dec. 12, courtroom 104 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.
- Nov. 14, room 901, ninth floor, 10 a.m. to noon
Individual cases will not be discussed.
