Fallen Soldier From Bergen To Be Honored With Procession
Sgt. David Solinas, Jr., who died tragically during a U.S. Army training exercise in late March, is returning home, officials said.

BERGEN COUNTY, NJ — A fallen service member from Bergen County will be honored with a funeral procession.
Sgt. David Solinas, Jr., who died in a helicopter crash during a U.S. Army training exercise in late March, is returning home to Oradell on Sunday, police chief William Wicker said.
Beginning at 2:45 p.m., a procession will go from Lake Street to Basralian Funeral Home to support the fallen hero, the chief said.

Supporters are asked to line up along Kinderamack Road from Lake Street to Solder Hill Road.

As of Thursday, more than $67,000 has been raised for the grieving family, and Solinas' home city, just days after the tragedy, had asked residents to tie yellow ribbons to structures in remembrance of the fallen solder. A Meal Train was also organized and booked within days.
"(The Solinas family) continues to be overwhelmed by all the love," the organizer said.
