Florida Man Caught Trafficking 2 Kilos Of Cocaine Through Bergen: Cops

The out-of-stater was accused of stashing bricks of cocaine in a hidden compartment in his pickup truck, police said.

BERGEN COUNTY, NJ — A Florida man was caught trafficking two kilograms of suspected cocaine through Bergen County, according to authorities.

Gabriel Ortiz-Redondo, 29, of Orlando, was found driving two brick-shaped objects consistent with kilogram quantities of cocaine on I-95 south in Ridgefield Park, on March 23, Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella and an affidavit said.

Ortiz-Redondo was pulled over in a Dodge Ram pickup truck, and the drugs were found in an electronically operated hidden compartment inside the vehicle's center console, the affidavit said.

The out-of-stater was arrested and charged with possession with intent to distribute a controlled dangerous substance, and was remanded to the Bergen County Jail pending an initial court appearance, prosecutor Musella said.
