Late Start Friday For Paramus Schools Due To Weather

With freezing rain and sleet in the forecast, Paramus Public Schools decided to delay the start of school on Friday, Feb. 25.

PARAMUS, NJ — Paramus Public Schools will have a delayed opening Friday, as a wintry mix Thursday night into the morning will make the commute difficult.

The district made the announcement via social media Thursday night. All bus schedules and school openings are pushed back two hours.

Morning-only classes at the Early Childhood Center, and the Champions before-school care program, are cancelled.

Full-day Early Childhood classes open at 11 a.m.

There will be no delivery of elementary school lunches.

The National Weather Service issued a winter weather advisory for western Bergen County and several other New Jersey and New York counties as a storm moves in from the west. The advisory lasts from 10 p.m. Thursday until 1 p.m. Friday.
