Paramus Native Promoted to Bergen County Police Captain

Four new officers will also be sworn in Tuesday evening.

The Bergen County Police will have four new officers sworn in and one officer promoted to the rank of captain by Bergen County Executive Tuesday evening.

James Mullin, born and raised in Paramus, became a Bergen County Police Officer in 1996 and has served as a patrol officer, detective in the criminal investigation division, traffic safety unit commander and executive officer of operations division among other positions. 

Oscar Lopez, of Bergenfield, Frank P. Caneja, of Garfield, William McMonigle, of Ridgefield and Jeremiah Nayda, an Elmwood Park native, will all be sworn in to the Bergen County Police department Tuesday evening at the Bergen County Administration Building in Hackensack.
