Snow Day: Paramus Schools Closed On Friday
District officials decided to close schools as snowfall could impact roadway conditions on Friday morning.
PARAMUS, NJ — Paramus Schools will be closed on Friday as snow falls on New Jersey, causing potential staffing problems.
"The weather forecast for tomorrow has remained consistent in its predictions for steady snowfall throughout the overnight and morning hours. Historically, when other districts in and around the region close and safe driving is compromised, schools experience an increase in staff unable to safely make it to work," said Superintendent Sean Adams.

"While our district has contingency plans for dealing with the resulting increase in staff absences, the impact of tomorrow’s storm will be compounded by the current staffing coverage already needed due to the increase in COVID-19 cases following the recent holiday season.
As a result, in the interest of the health and safety of our staff and students, all Paramus Public Schools will be closed tomorrow, Friday, January 7, 2022. All before school, after school, and evening activities are canceled."
Forecasters predict 3-5 in. of snowfall in North Jersey starting Thursday night and continuing into Friday morning. The snow predicted for Friday morning is likely to cause the most problems, NWS officials said.
"Treacherous roadway conditions are likely, especially early," the NWS said, signaling potential trouble for morning commuters.
