Minor Crash Snarls Rush-Hour Traffic On GW Bridge: Officials

BERGEN COUNTY, NJ — A police investigation held up rush-hour traffic Monday on the George Washington Bridge, making commutes a challenge for Manhattan-bound Bergen County travelers, sources said.

Port Authority officials tweeted at about 8:10 a.m. that the G.W. Bridge to New York has a delay of 60 minutes due to volume.

As of 10 a.m., an eastbound lane on the lower-level Trans-Manhattan Expressway was still blocked due to police activity, according to the traffic-tracking site 511.

On Monday afternoon, a Port Authority spokesperson confirmed a minor crash on the road that required removal of disabled vehicles and debris, and that G.W. Bridge delays peaked at about 8 a.m.
