Passenger Heads To Hospital After School Bus Crash In Paramus: Police

PARAMUS, NJ — One passenger was injured in a school bus crash in Paramus on Tuesday afternoon, police said.

The private bus was heading to pick up students at New Bridges Middle and High School in Paramus when it crashed into several utility poles, police said.

The driver of the bus, 63, had two passengers: a 58-year-old aide, who was taken to Hackensack University Medical Center for evaluation, and a 34-year-old nurse from Carlstadt, who refused medical attention at the scene, police said.

The bus was scheduled to pick up four secondary-level students with autism enrolled in the Bergen County Special Services School District’s New Bridges School, said Police Chief Robert Guidetti.

No students were on board at the time of the crash, the chief said.
