More Than 4K Still Without Power In Parsippany

Frustration is mounting as outages enter their fifth day

PARSIPPANY, NJ—Four days after Tropical Storm Isaias blasted New Jersey, thousands of homes and businesses in Parsippany are still without power, angering customers and officials.

"We share your frustration over what seems to be an inordinate delay in reopening our roads and restoring power to many neighborhoods," said Freeholder Director Deborah Smith, speaking on behalf of the entire Freeholder board.

Despite promises from JCP&L that 85 percent of customers would have electricity restored by Friday night, Parsippany reported 4,282 outages on Saturday, part of 29,786 in Morris County.
