One Charged With Sexual Assault, Trafficking in Parsippany

Police say the man forced the victim to engage in prostitution and sexually assaulted her at a township hotel

PARSIPPANY, NJ—The Morris County Prosecutor's Office and Parsippany police announced Sunday that a West Orange man was arrested and charged with multiple felonies, including sexual assault.

Mcquacy Goodridge, 28, was charged Sunday with four counts of first degree human trafficking and one count each of second degree sexual assault, second degree promoting prostitution, as well as criminal coercion and making terrorist threats.

Police said Goodridge forced a 31-year-old woman to engage in acts of prostitution beginning in March 2019 until last weekend. Goodridge allegedly transported the woman to various places in Morris County to engage in sex acts for money and then kept the cash, while threatening and verbally abusing her.

According to the charges, on Saturday, August 15, Goodridge sexually assaulted the woman at the Ramada Inn on Rt. 46 in Parsippany after he demanded that she find new clients and threatened to harm her and her family. Goodridge was arrested after police were called to the hotel.

Goodridge, who could face up to 20 years to life if convicted on each trafficking charge and a decade in prison if found guilty of the sexual assault charge, was housed at the Morris County Correctional Facility on Sunday. He has yet to enter a plea.
