PARSIPPANY, NJ—Jersey Central Power & Light said it restored service to more than 500 township customers overnight and early Friday, despite still-hazardous conditions three days after Tropical Storm Isaias.

"Downed trees, broken branches and road closures continue to hamper crews' efforts to access
areas with damage to make repairs to broken poles and downed wires," said JCP&L spokesman Cliff Cole.

Parsippany reported 5,048 outages on Friday afternoon, part of 54,155 in Morris County.
