100-Year-Old Fanwood Veteran Receives Drive-By Birthday Wishes
First responders and neighbors celebrated the WWII veteran's 100th birthday with a drive-by celebration in Fanwood.
FANWOOD, NJ — Fanwood Police, Fire and Rescue did a drive-by celebration for a beloved Fanwood resident who turned 100-years-old on Saturday.
Joe Schott is well-known in the Fanwood community and a WWII veteran. He received a loud tribute for his birthday on the front lawn of his home Friday, as first responders blared their horns as they passed Schott who was surrounded by family, friends and neighbors.
Schott was very active in Boy Scout leadership for many years and volunteers often in Fanwood.

According to a release, Schott was surprised by the large, noisy turnout on Friday.
