All Summit Offices To Close Early Due To Hazardous Weather

SUMMIT, NJ — Summit's City Hall, as well as all city office locations, will close early on Thursday due to the hazardous weather conditions.

All offices will close at 12 p.m. because of the dangerous travel conditions projected for Thursday afternoon.

Here is the full forecast in Summit from the National Weather Service:

Thursday

Rain or freezing rain before 5pm, then a chance of rain, freezing rain, and sleet. Patchy fog between 10am and 11am. Temperature falling to around 30 by 4pm. Wind chill values between 20 and 30. North wind around 9 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%. Total daytime ice accumulation of less than a 0.1 of an inch possible. Total daytime sleet accumulation of less than a half inch possible.

Thursday Night

A chance of freezing rain and sleet, mainly before 7pm. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 19. Wind chill values between 10 and 15. Northwest wind 7 to 9 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30%.
