Downed Pole Forces River Road Closure
Roadway not expected to be reopened until tonight
River Road was closed to traffic Saturday after a tractor trailer struck a utility pole around 2:30 am, Summit police and JCP&L said.
The repair work on the pole will take until 9 or 10 pm, said JCP&L spokesman Jerry Ricciardi. The road will remain closed at least until that time. Other utilities may have to do repair work in the area, Ricciardi also said.
