SUMMIT, NJ — From new coffee shops and bakeries to a Mexican smokehouse and taqueria, Summit offers a plethora of new businesses to check out in the new year.
There are three new businesses — Gregory's Coffee, Kung Fu Tea and BAKE Bakery — that will be opening within the new year, as well as several other stores that opened at the tail-end of 2021.

This New York-based coffee shop is coming soon to the corner of Summit Ave. at 342 Springfield Ave in the old AT&T store’s space. The chain offers a wide range of coffee and tea options, as well as a variety pastries and packaged foods.
In replacement of the old 16 Handles space on 88 Summit Ave., Kung Fu Tea is coming to Summit and will offer a variety of bubble tea drinks in many different flavors. The menu include milk teas, punch teas, espresso drinks and much more. The also include dairy free, gluten free, vegan and caffeine-free options.
BAKE Bakery
BAKE bakery is slated to open in the coming couple months at 383 Springfield Ave. The new bakery will join other popular Summit bakeries, such as Natale's Summit Bakery on Broad St. and By Tess on Springfield Ave.
Recently Opened
Serra Doce — a coffee shop with Portuguese and Brazilian pastries and sandwiches — opened near the end of 2021 at 21 Union Place. The restaurant combines classic Portuguese foods, such as paella and grilled Portuguese sausage, with a variety of coffees and lattes.
SQR Artisan Pizza also opened toward the end of 2021 on 35 Union Place. They offer a variety of pizza options and salads.
The Mexican smokehouse and taqueria opened last year at 10 Maple Street, serving a fun menu of cocktails, tacos, burritos and more. They offer vegetarian and gluten free options.
Patricia & Paul Artisan Olive Oils & Balsamics
This gourmet grocery store recently opened at 310 Springfield Ave. The store sells many different olive oils, balsamics, speciality foods and items for entertaining or serving.
This chiropractor recently opened at 308 Springfield Ave. Services include chiropractic, acupuncture, and strength and conditioning (personal training).
