New COVID Numbers For Summit From Health Department
The Westfield Regional Health Department has released a new COVID-19 case count for the past week in Summit.
SUMMIT, NJ — The Westfield Regional Health Department has released new COVID-19 data for Summit this past week.
From Jan. 7 to Jan. 15, the Department is reporting 188 positive confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Summit. Of those 188 cases, 69 patients are aged 19 or younger.
According to the report, New Jersey has averaged 27,870 new daily cases this week with 77 deaths each day. The state has the fifth highest rate of transmission in the nation.

The WRHD reports that 67% of children aged five to 11 have received at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, and 60% of all eligible residents have received a vaccine booster.
