Parkline Bridge Construction In Summit Begins Saturday
A section of Morris Avenue will be closed Saturday for the installation of the pedestrian bridge.

SUMMIT, NJ — A section of Morris Avenue will be closed on Saturday due to the installation of the Parkline bridge across Morris Ave., the city announced.
Morris Avenue will be closed between Glenside Avenue and Ashwood Avenue from 8 a.m. until 2 p.m. on Oct. 22.
Phase 1 of the project is already complete, which involved creating a path between Broad Street and Morris Avenue. Beautification and maintenance in this area is still ongoing.

Phase 1A involves building the pedestrian bridge, which will be three feet higher than what was there previously. The bridge, which will have a 17-foot clearance over Morris, is expected be complete by late October.

Detours will be posted and Summit Police will be onsite to direct traffic on Saturday.
