Summit Council Will Hold Swearing-In Ceremony On Tuesday Night
Newly elected and re-elected officials will be sworn in at Summit's organization meeting on Tuesday, Jan. 4.
SUMMIT, NJ — Tuesday night's Summit Common Council organization meeting will feature an official swearing-in ceremony of newly-elected and re-elected officials.
The meeting will begin outdoors in the courtyard at Summit's City Hall with the swearing-in ceremony at 7:30 p.m. Although the meeting will remain in-person, the welcome reception originally schedule for 7 p.m. was cancelled due to the recent increase in COVID-19 cases.
Re-elected Council members Beth Little, Andy Minegar, Greg Vartan and Lisa Allen are among those who will be sworn in at Tuesday's ceremony.

Mayor Nora Radest will read her State of the City address in the Common Council chamber immediately following the swearing-in ceremony.
The meeting will be broadcast live on the City of Summit YouTube channel and HomeTowne TV Comcast channel 36 and Verizon channel 33. The live broadcast will begin at 7:15 p.m. with interviews with the newly elected and re-elected Common Council members.

For residents who would like to attend the meeting in-person, seating will be available inside the Council Chamber and in the first floor lobby to encourage social distancing. Masks are required to be worn inside City Hall at all times, including while speaking.
