What Will Be Discussed At Summit's Next Council Meeting?

SUMMIT, NJ — Summit's first Common Council business meeting of 2022 will take place on Tuesday and an agenda for the meeting has been released.

The meeting will take place at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday in Council Chamber at City Hall. The Mayor and Common Council will recognize the Summit Free Market Committee and its receipt of the Governor’s Excellence Award for a student-run environmental initiative, and the committee will give a brief presentation of their work.

If residents are unable to attend the meeting in person, they can submit comments by email to cityclerk@cityofsummit.org. Comments must be received by noon on Jan. 18. The rules for public comments are posted on the city website.

The Law and Labor Committee will also introduce three resolutions to authorize the execution of license agreements for sidewalk cafes with liquor licenses for Winberie’s Restaurant & Bar, Piattino Neighborhood Bistro and The Office Tavern Grill.

Summit's Council will additionally discuss four resolutions presented by the Finance Committee. To view these specific resolutions, visit the agenda here.

The Safety and Health Committee will introduce two resolutions to appoint a probationary firefighter and a new police officer, and the Administrative Policies and Community Services Committee will introduce a resolution to establish a Ward Commission.
