Arson Probe Underway After Several Police Cars Damaged By Fire In Hackensack: Authorities
The police vehicles were parked in a municipal parking lot at 78 Trinity Place when the fire occurred.
HACKENSACK, NJ — Several police vehicles were damaged by a fire Saturday night in a municipal parking lot in Hackensack.
The Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crimes Unit and the Hackensack Police Department are investigating the "suspicious fire," which damaged the police vehicles that were parked in an overflow parking area at 78 Trinity Place in Hackensack, said Jeff Angermeyer, deputy chief of detectives with the Bergen County Prosecutor's Office.
The lot is used for police vehicles, and no one was inside any of the vehicles at the time of the fire, Angermeyer said.

The Hackensack police and fire departments responded to the blaze at about 8:10 p.m., Angermeyer told Patch in an email response. The Bergen County Prosecutor's Office Arson Squad was notified after authorities determined the fire appeared to be suspicious in nature.
Detectives and arson investigators from the prosecutor's office also responded to the scene to assist the Hackensack Police Department with their investigation, Angermeyer said.

No injuries were reported, and the cause of the fire remains under investigation.
