Korean Café Cheongsu Opens In Bergen County

BERGEN COUNTY, NJ — The team behind a "Korean wellness" restaurant called Oncheon in Manhattan have now opened a new Korean café in Fort Lee.

Cheongsu "blends Korean tradition with nature-inspired design, offering everything from signature soufflés and yakgwa to misutgaru lattes and sparkling yuzu ade," the creators said. "Cheongsu invites you to savor moments of calm through exceptional flavors and serene surroundings."

They opened for business on Christmas Eve.

They said the concept is inspired by "nature, zen, and Korean tradition."

Key dishes include dessert soufflés, Yakgwa, and Korean-Inspired Tartines, they said.

The team behind both Oncheon and Cheongsu is Glow Seoul, a Seoul-based food, beverage, and entertainment design firm.

"Cheongsu takes inspiration from Seoul’s rich heritage, particularly the tranquil charm of neighborhoods like Ikseon-dong," they said in a release. "Infused with the ethos of slowness and harmony, the café invites guests to reconnect with nature and savor moments of quiet reflection."

"Our mission with Cheongsu is to offer more than just a café experience—it’s an immersive retreat into slow living, inspired by Korean culture and natural beauty," said HyoSun Yoon, Head Patissier at Glow Seoul. "The design, menu, and atmosphere are carefully curated to create a sanctuary where guests can pause, breathe, and reconnect with their surroundings."

Food And Drink

The menu includes sandwiches, brunch favorites like French toast, cookies, flavored cheesecakes, afternoon tea, and coffee drinks.

They said, "In the evenings, Cheongsu transforms into a BYOB-friendly haven, offering light bites and shareable plates designed to complement your favorite wines, making it a relaxed yet elevated dining experience."

Cheongsu is located at 1644 Parker Avenue, Fort Lee, and will be open from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.
