Thousands Attend 'No Kings' Rallies In Bergen, Hudson Counties To Protest White House
North Jersey residents took to the streets Saturday to protest specific actions taken by the White House.
NORTH JERSEY, NJ — Protestors in Bergen and Hudson counties took to the streets on Saturday to demonstrate against what they say are specific authoritarian-type actions taken by the Trump White House.
Sings held by the protestors made reference to the detaining of immigrants — including some who had been in the U.S. legally —and a bill making its way through Congress that the nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office says could strip nearly 8 million impoverished people of health care and add $3.8 trillion to the deficit.
"We attended the No Kings protest in Teaneck, N.J., this afternoon," wrote one man, "along with at least 300 other people. It was very energizing." Signs in his photos included one saying "I love the U.S.A...Therefore my eyes are open."

Federal judges have ruled some of the president's executive orders unconstitutional, and the Trump administration has fought back.
The protests, held in Jersey City, Weehawken, Teaneck, Paramus, and Rutherford, occurred on the same day as a $25-$45 million military parade in Washington, D.C., meant to celebrate the 250th anniversary of the Army. The parade was also held on Flag Day and the president's birthday.
