Post-Ida Cleanup Underway in Teaneck
During last night's tropical storm, Teaneck received over 8 inches of rain, as well as flash flooding, fallen trees and power outages.

TEANECK, NJ — In the aftermath of Tropical Storm Ida, Teaneck experienced over 8 inches of rain, as well as flash flooding, fallen trees, minor power outages and disabled vehicles, officials said. The township’s emergency services conducted several water rescues, as well.
Cleanup is currently underway, as the Department of Public Works has crews in the field picking up storm debris. Most, if not all, roads are open and water has receded in problem areas.
The township is reminding residents that downed wires are considered “live,” and people should stay at least 30 feet away from the lines and avoid going near the poles. Electric current passes easily through water, so it is best to stay away from downed lines and not to drive over them.
