Teaneck Man Sexually Assaulted Child, Bergen County Prosecutor Says

TEANECK, NJ — A Teaneck man has been charged with sexual assault and endangering the welfare of a child, said the Bergen County Prosecutor's Office.

Diego A. Zhinin, 37, of Teaneck, was charged with second-degree sexual assault, two counts of second-degree endangering the welfare, and third-degree aggravated criminal sexual contact, prosecutors said.

Prosecutors said that this past Friday, the New Jersey Division of Child Protection and Permanency contacted the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit regarding the alleged sexual abuse of a juvenile under 16.

An investigation by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office and the Teaneck Police Department determined that Zhinin sexually assaulted the child in Teaneck "between November 2020 until July 2025."

On Saturday, Zhinin was arrested in Teaneck. He was taken to the Bergen County Jail to await a first appearance in Bergen County Superior Court in Hackensack, prosecutors said.
