Teaneck Superintendent Stepping Down At End Of Year

Dr. Christopher Irving, who has been superintendent of Teaneck Public Schools since 2018, announced he is leaving the district in July.

TEANECK, NJ — Dr. Christopher Irving, who has been superintendent of Teaneck Public Schools since 2018, announced he is leaving the district in July.

"The Board will begin their search for a new Superintendent and I will do my part to ensure a smooth transition," Irving said in a note posted last week.

Irving said he is "exceptionally proud" of what the district has accomplished since he joined the district in July 2018.

"It has been my honor to serve as this district’s leader for the past four years and to serve alongside an outstanding Executive and School Leadership Team," Irving said. "Likewise, Teaneck’s teaching and support staff are second to none, and our children are in capable and compassionate hands."

The board had decided to terminate Irving's contract last summer but voted in July to table a motion to suspend him, NorthJersey.com reported.
