Westfield Prepares to Pass Budget, Improvements in Pothole Repair, Snow Removal
The Westfield Town Council is prepared to allocate a budget more than twice as large as last year's.

The Westfield Town Council is prepared to allocate a budget toward capital improvements that is more than twice the budget approved in 2014.
The Town Council is planning to allocate $450,000 to its proposed 2015 budget, according to a report from TAPinto.net. The $450,000 is more than twice as much as the $200,000 approved in 2014, TAPinto.net said.
According to the report from TAPinto.net, some of the improvements Westfield residents could see as a result of the money allocated for capital improvements include:

- Faster pothole repairs and a system allowing the town to fill potholes year-round.
- About 80 more trees and more effective landscaping.
- Better snow removal by replacing several trucks and possibly a large snow blower to clear parking lots and downtown.
Additionally, the town received a grant to improve its conservation center and make recycling easier for residents, TAPinto.net reported.
