Hillsdale's B Hive Salon is holding a fundraiser for the Fruit Tree Planting Foundation Monday.

The B Hive Salon is celebrating "Sustainable Beauty Day" Monday with free haircuts to benefit the Fruit Tree Planting Foundation, according to salon owner James Alba.
The salon will be open from noon to 6 p.m. Monday, when it is normally closed, the for "cutathon" event. The haircuts are free, but clients are encouraged to make a mimimum $15 donation to the foundation.

"It hits the trifecta for us," Alba said. "It benefits an eco-association, it's a community event and it's also hair-driven."
B Hive opened in Hillsdale last February as Bergen County's first organic and eco-friendly hair salon, according to Alba. They offer organic products in a building designed to maximize the salon's eco-friendliness.
