Hillsdale Police Arrest Driver in Ridgewood Hit-and-Run

A Bergen County man was arrested yesterday after police say he was driving while intoxicated when he drove down a one-way street in Ridgewood the wrong way and hit a car.

Jeffrey Albrechtson, 61, of River Vale, was finally arrested by Hillsdale police after driving the wrong way on Hudson Street, rear-ending a car with his GMC Arcadia on Linwood Avenue in Ridgewood and fleeing, Cliffview Pilot reported.

Ridgewood police charged Albrechtson with leaving the scene, failure to report an accident, failure to signal, reckless driving, wrong way on a one way street, improper passing and failure to keep right. Cliffview Pilot reports Albrechtson was also charged with DWI.

He was released yesterday.
