Hillsdale Students Invited to Benefit Dance

Money raised at the event will go to the Joseph Buldo-Licciardi Memorial Scholarship Fund.

Hillsdale middle school-aged students have been invited to a dance benefiting the Joseph Buldo-Licciardi Memorial Scholarship Fund.

The River Vale Police Department and PTA are hosting and chaperoning the dance, called VIBE, at Holdrum Middle School Friday. Students in sixth, seventh and eighth grade from Holdrum and George G. White Middle School are invited to attend the event.

Buldo-Licciardi, called Joey, was a River Vale resident and a graduating recruit with the River Vale Junior Police Academy Class of 2002. He died in 2003 when he was a teenager.

Since then, Joey's family have teamed up with the River Vale Police to start the fund in his memory and award scholarships to graduating students of Holdrum Middle School and Pascack Valley High School each year. Money raised by the dance will go toward these scholarships.

VIBE will take place from 7 to 9:30 p.m. at Holdrum Middle School Friday. Admission is $10.
