Cook-Levy founded Pascack Valley Meals on Wheels 40 years ago out of what is now the Park Ridge Diner, according to Cynthia Chazen, a volunteer organizing the event. Today, they have about 450 volunteers working in 24 Bergen towns delivering meals to, currently, about 250 seniors and people with health problems that prevent them from being able to buy or prepare their own food, Chazen said.

The Pascack Valley group is also particpating in a pilot program with Esai Pharmaceuticals to deliver meals to breast cancer patients and their families.
