The district also launched a new summer program this year, the Summer Arts Academy.
The arts program offered different music, theater and fine arts courses for middle and high school students, according to Karen Forgione, the program's coordinator.
Forgione said she hopes to add music technology and film production courses in the future, as well as a Broadway field trip and a final performance for parents.
