New Venue Hosts Parties in Westwood

Glow, a new party venue, offers a variety of activities for birthdays and other special events.

There's a new venue in Westwood for kids' parties and other special occasions.

Glow, which is scheduled to open next month and taking reservations now, offers party packages including glow-in-the-dark laser tag, basketball and arts and crafts, as well as a "VIP dance club" with a DJ and red carpet, according to owner Marisol Rossi.

The venue features 4,500 square feet with space for dancing, dining and other activities. Event guests can play the latest video games and 150 arcade games in the game room while they wait for the party to start, then move on to the primary activity under the black lights in the main room before sitting down to eat in the dining room.

Each event will have Glow to itself, so there will not be any awkward situations sharing with other parties, Rossi said.

Rossi has more than eight years of experience as a professional party planner, but creating great events has been a life-long passion.

"I remember planning my fifth birthday," Rossi said. "I'm crazy about parties."

For Rossi, Glow solves two problems. As a party planner, she has been limited in what she can do by other venues. As a mom, there's not enough fun local activities for her to do with her kids.

"We really have to go out of our way to find entertainment for the kids," Rossi said.

Westwood seemed like a great place to open Glow because it's a central location where a lot of people come to shop and eat, she said.

Glow is holding a grand opening September 20. The event will showcase a variety of the activities they offer, including a dance party, magic show, and free henna tattoos. There will also be free food and cotton candy, as well as party packages designed by Rossi's children, Aiden and Nadia. Mayor John Birkner will also come by for a ribbon-cutting.

Glow is located at 701 Broadway in Westwood. To learn more about the venue, check out their Facebook page. To make a reservation, call (201) 497-3377.
