Tavern Hosting Pig Roast Benefit This Weekend
Lou's Tavern in Hillsdale will hold its annual pig roast to benefit a local woman with MS Sunday.

The is this weekend, and the event will benefit a local woman diagnosed with MS, according to bar owner Cindy Barnum.
Medical bills have been "overwhelming" for the family of 20-year old Pascack Valley High School alumn Stephanine Schneider since she was diagnosed with MS, Barnum said.
To help, Lou's is holding their annual pig roast to benefit Schneider's family. The event will feature a lot of food in addition to the pig, including hamburgers, hot dogs, salad, a clam bar, snow cones and popcorn. There will also be music, raffles, a 50-50, face painting, race cars, basketball games and a dunk tank.

"We encourage people to bring their kids," Barnum said. "We want to make it a family day."
Barnum said she started holding the pig roasts after her bartender unexpectedly died at the age of 36 from a brain aneurysm. The event has continued with a new beneficiary each year. Last year, it from Washington Township with a rare blood disease.

The pig roast is Sunday from noon to 6 p.m., rain or shine. A $20 donation is requested from guests, and kids are free.
