Township Eases Parking Restriction on Ridgewood Road

A new ordinance cuts the "no parking" area in half south of Glen Avenue.

Residents of Ridgewood Road south of the intersection of Glen Avenue will have more on-street parking available thanks to a new ordinance approved by the Washington Township Council this week.

The law cuts the "no parking" area down from 500 feet to just 250 feet.

The township began enforcing a years-old parking ban last spring because of safety concerns at the intersection of Ridgewood Road, Ridgewood Boulevard North and E. Glen Avenue, but residents later asked the town for more leeway in parking around the area.

The council also previously discussed also allowing more parking near Ridgewood Boulevard North since the "no parking" signs were installed. Parking there was also banned within 500 feet of the intersection. The new ordinance made no changes to parking on Ridgewood Boulevard North.
